Oklahoma American Indian Early 1900’s Photo Portfolio:  One of the best early groupings that I’ve ever seen consisting of 7 Real Photos (2 are duplicates) and One Real Photo Postcard (RPPC) w/ AZO stamp box all arrows pointing up (Pre 1910 circa) of mainly Oklahoma American Indians (Native American Indians – if you will) all sepia tone – most in Full Formal Tribal Dress… 4 photos measure pretty close to standard postcard size with three others with smaller dimensions – I took photos of both front in back for your inspection – Of special interest is the Real Photo Postcard of Crazy Snake – (Chitto Harjo 1846-1912) was a leader and orator among the traditionalists in the Muscogee Creek Nation in Indian Territory at the turn of the 20th century. He resisted changes which the US government and local leaders wanted to impose to achieve statehood for what became Oklahoma …also known as the leader of the last Indian Uprising in the US in 1909 known as the “Crazy Snake Rebellion” (please google this event which involved Jim Crow Laws, the encampment of Black Americans with the Creek Indians, and the pursing uprising) – note the photographer A.C. Parrott (Aaron Clark Parrott) who was a mercantile owner in Checotah Oklahoma and whose 2 sons owned Parrott Motor Company in Oklahoma City – The postcard reads, “Crazy Snake the Creek full blood candidate for chief yielded to the demands of advertising by permitting a Checotah man to kodak him.  Snake had always be opposed to having his picture taken but threw up his hands when told that it would help him beat the other fellow – Kansas City Times”; The oblong smaller photo with writing on reverse reads “Chief Gray Horse Eagle, Crow Tribe – Seattle, Wash.  Very dark, said that he never saw so many pale-faced Indians before as we have in Okla  – He was posing for me but didn’t want any one to know it”; Great HARD TO FIND Original Sepia Tone American Indian Photos circa close to the Oklahoma Land Rush.
